Where do you tutor your students? I tutor my students in my home. I have an open loft area and some of my parents stay in the joining media room during the session. I have all my materials and files handy for tutoring. What ages are you certified to teach? I am certified to teach pre-school to 6th grade. My bachelor’s degree is in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. I have my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
What is your fee? My initial fee is $40.00/hour. This fee covers the initial session in which I do a reading/math assessment and a learning survey to determine a plan for the student. This plan is then sent to the parent(s). If the parent(s) wish to continue, the fee per session is $60.00/hour. I am a teacher with 20+ years experience and I have a Counseling Degree as well with years of experience with neurodivergent children, including having a neurodivergent son.
How do you accept payment for the sessions? Payment can be cash, check, Venmo, Cash App. It is due at the conclusion of the session.
What makes you different from other tutors? I was in the classroom for 15+ years. I worked in public schools and taught fourth and fifth grade at Carrollwood Day School, a private IB school in Tampa. I then went on to be an Academic Coach for students with AHDH/ODD. I have also been a child therapist at Insight Counseling and Wellness. My extensive and broad experience allows me to be a caring and empathetic teacher who can focus on one on one instruction with students. I create challenging and creative lessons based on the students learning ability and style while working on fostering a good self esteem and encouraging positivity.
